ESR3: Evgenia-Galateia Georgaki

Analysis of the structure and mechanism of function of ERAP/IRAP

  • Scientific Background

Galateia studied Chemistry in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. After her basic studies, she did an Erasmus Placement Internship in the U1177 laboratory of INSERM "Drugs and Molecules for Living Systems" in Lille, France, where she worked on the synthesis and characterization of small modulators of ERAP aminopeptidases. She then pursued a Master’s Degree in Drug Design and Development, in the Faculty of Pharmacy of Lille. Her Master Thesis, conducted in the INSERM’s research team UMR-7211, focused on establishing Microscale Thermophoresis based quantitative binding assays for the interaction between LRRK2 protein, a key determinant of Parkinson’s disease, and its regulating phosphatases.
